In CWM carpentry workshops young people, mostly young men, have the chance to get crafting skills. With these skills they are able to find a job and earn their own money.
This offer is mainly for those, who could not finish their school education and don´t have any perspective for their future. Thru this free offer, it is possible for the youths to build themselves a future and it also works against the rate of crime, because most of the crimes are done by young people without a perspective in live.
Often these workshops are to find in carpentries where the chef is personally offering them, together with the CWM. The CWM helps by getting the tools and the raw materials for the workshop. The contact of the CWM to Germany also offers sometimes the possibility to get machines, which are normally not to find in carpentry’s around Uganda.
This kind of project is an investment in the future. On the one hand for the youth and one the other hand also for the organisation, because the participants of this projects might be in the future members of CWM. Unfortunately the possibilities are limited because of less resources and little space.
